01 / CARBON & ARAMID FABRICS

Specify construction before quantity.

State whether you need woven, unidirectional, hybrid or cord fabric. For woven fabric, include the weave, areal weight and yarn or tow requirement. For UD fabric, identify the reinforcement direction and any width requirement.

  • Material and construction
  • Areal weight in g/m² and width in mm or cm
  • Roll length and quantity, with units
  • Intended resin, manufacturing process or application
Roll area is not installed coverage.

A listed 500 mm × 100 m UD roll contains 50 m² of fabric. Cutting, overlaps and installation waste must be considered separately.

02 / CARBON FIBER PLATES

Define the plate, then the part.

Provide length, width, thickness and quantity. Add lay-up, resin, surface finish and tolerance requirements where they matter to your application. If machining is needed, describe it as a requirement to review, with a drawing reference.

A plate photograph does not establish its internal lay-up, material grade or engineering performance. Ask for the information required for your application.

03 / PREPREGS

Include the processing conditions.

Identify dry reinforcement weight separately from total prepreg weight. State your resin requirements, processing method and cure conditions. Ask for the applicable storage temperature, shelf life and out-life before ordering.

Shipping and handling arrangements should be confirmed for the exact prepreg specification.

04 / NEEDLE-PUNCHED PREFORMS

Make the supply stage clear.

Send the required shape, dimensions, fiber architecture and quantity. Include any density target and downstream processing route. Confirm whether the enquiry is for the preform stage or a finished component.

Reference a drawing in your enquiry; technical files can be discussed by email.

05 / QUOTATION COMPARISON

Compare like with like.

  • Pricing unit: per roll, square metre, linear metre or part.
  • Material definition: construction, grade and dimensions.
  • Test basis: method, direction, specimen and reporting basis.
  • Commercial terms: minimum order, lead time, packaging and delivery terms.
  • Documentation: ask which documents are available for the quoted material.

Product-family descriptions are a starting point. The quotation and agreed specification should identify the material to be supplied.
